The Reviewer Terms, in short

When you apply you tick two boxes: I am 18 or older and I agree to the Reviewer Terms. If you applied before those boxes existed, a notice on your reviewer home asks you to confirm them once before your next claim. Here's what you're agreeing to; the full text is at /terms#reviewers.

The short version

• 18+ only. No exceptions.
• Voluntary. You pick which burns to take and when. You are not an employee or contractor of BurnTest or of any site owner, and no one owes you wages, fees or expenses.
• Rewards, not pay. Approved burns earn Heat and, from Ember, free burn credits. Neither has cash value; they can't be sold, transferred or redeemed for money. Reviewers are never paid money.
• You choose to record. Recording starts when you press Record. Capture only the site you're reviewing and your own voice: no other tabs, no other people, no passwords, payment details, messages or documents. If something private slips in, stop and re-record. Never enter real payment details on a site you're reviewing.
• License. You keep the copyright in your recording. BurnTest and the site owner who ordered the burn get a permanent license to store, play, transcribe and analyze it to run the service. Site owners may not publish it without your written OK.
• Confidential. What you see in a burn stays in the burn. Don't share unreleased sites, and don't contact site owners outside the platform.
• Real and live. Every burn is you, reacting for real. Pre-recorded, scripted, AI-generated or outsourced burns, or burns of sites you have a stake in, get you removed.
• Removal. Break these rules or the cooldown policy and we can cool down or remove your account. Heat and unspent credits earned through Heat are forfeited on removal.

Your data

You can download, deactivate or delete your account any time from /review/profile. Recordings you made for other people's sites stay with those site owners after deletion, without your name attached.
