What gets a burn rejected

Silence for more than 60 seconds at a time, under two minutes, most of the time off the target site, not attempting the brief, or pre-recorded/AI content. Rejected burns cost 15 Heat (20 for silent, short or off-site).

Site owners approve or reject every burn. These are the reasons a burn gets rejected, and a rejection costs 15 Heat (20 when it's silent, short or off-site):

Silence — more than 60 seconds at a time without narration
Too short — under two minutes
Off-site — most of the recording spent somewhere other than the site in the brief
Ignoring the brief — clearly not attempting the owner's task
Not live — pre-recorded, AI-generated or read from a script

A rejection for silent, short or off-site recordings also puts your account in a 7-day cooldown (see Cooldown).

What doesn't get you rejected

Being harsh. Owners rate blunt, specific feedback highest. Say you'd leave, say why, and say what would have changed your mind.
