What is cooldown and how does it end?
If your rating drops below 3.5, more than 30% of your last 10 burns are rejected, or you submit a burn that's silent, off-site or under two minutes, your account cools down for 7 days: you can still record, but burns earn no Heat or credits. It lifts automatically.
What triggers it
- Rolling rating average under 3.5 over your last 10 approved burns
- More than 30% of your last 10 decided burns rejected
- A burn rejected for being silent (60+ seconds at a time), under two minutes, mostly off-site, or clearly not attempting the brief
- Attempting to contact a site owner outside the platform
What it means
For 7 days you can still claim and record burns, but approvals add no Heat, no credit progress and no badges, and ad ratings earn nothing. Your level and existing badges stay. Priority access and free audits pause.
How it ends
Automatically after 7 days; your Heat page shows the date. An admin can lift it early after a successful appeal. Burns approved during cooldown aren't awarded retroactively.
Permanent removal
A second cooldown within 90 days, submitting AI-generated or pre-recorded content, or harassing a site owner results in permanent removal. Heat, badges and unspent credits earned through Heat are forfeited.
