What is the BurnTest Recorder extension?
A free Chrome extension that records any site's tab in one click, with tab sound and your voice, no share dialog. Built for sites that block embedding.
The BurnTest Recorder is a small Chrome extension (Manifest V3) that uses Chrome's tab-capture permission to record the site's tab directly. Compared with the in-page recorder:
- No share dialog — you click the flame icon on the site's tab and it starts.
- Tab audio + mic — the site's sounds and your narration are both captured.
- Works on every site — including ones that block being embedded.
- Hands back automatically — when you stop, the recording is uploaded with your BurnTest session and the burn page opens with it attached.
It records only when you start it on a burn, only the tab you start it on, and only while the timer in the tab title is running. What it collects and why is in the extension privacy policy.
