Desktop or mobile?
Pick the device most of your traffic uses. Mobile burns are recorded on the reviewer's phone with its native screen recorder; desktop burns in the browser.
Each burn is either desktop or mobile. It's set when you submit and can't be changed afterwards, so check your analytics first: if 70% of your visitors are on phones, that's where the friction is.
Desktop
The reviewer records in Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari on a computer, with their microphone. If your site blocks being embedded, they use the BurnTest Recorder extension or a window-share fallback; you don't need to do anything.
Mobile
The reviewer records with their phone's built-in screen recorder (iOS or Android) while narrating, then uploads the file. You get the same video, transcript, notes and Fire Score. Mobile reviewers are matched by the devices in their profile.
